Workforce Development + Career Readiness

Program Overview

Cr8ted By Design is a workforce and entrepreneurial development initiative of Cr8tive Mindz designed to empower transitional-age youth (TAY) and at-risk young adults (ages 18–26) with the skills, confidence, and support to achieve economic independence through entrepreneurship, creative industry training, and career readiness. Grounded in a Positive Youth Development (PYD) model, Cr8ted By Design integrates individualized coaching, hands-on learning, and mentorship to help youth identify and achieve their personal, educational, and professional goals. The program partners with other TAY-serving agencies to complement—not duplicate—case management and support services.

Core Program Components 

1. Entrepreneurship & Career Foundations

  • Business startup principles, financial literacy, branding, and marketing

  • Individualized Career & Entrepreneurial Plans with measurable goals

  • Resume, interview, and professional readiness workshops


2. Creative Careers Collective (On-Site Track)

  • Hands-on creative industry training (beauty, photography, design, performance, media)

  • Income-generating skill development and creative portfolio building

  • Opportunities for showcases, micro-business incubation, and monetization of creative skills


3. Workforce Readiness & Employment Development

  • Career coaching and job placement support

  • Assistance securing vital documents, transportation, tools, and attire

  • Linkages to internships, certification programs, and employment opportunities through partner agencies


4. Youth Business Council (YBC)

  • Leadership development through youth-led decision-making and project guidance

  • Ambassadorship roles for entrepreneurship and workforce development

  • Peer-driven initiatives and community engagement activities

 Outcomes & Impact 

1. Employment Outcomes: job placement, 6–18 month retention, promotions, wage

increases, transition from part- to full-time

2. Entrepreneurship Outcomes: business launches, freelance income, licensing, participation in pitch/STEM competitions

3. Creative Industry Outcomes: income from creative work, project portfolios, community showcases

4. Career Readiness Outcomes: resumes/portfolios completed, vital documents secured, increases in professional confidence
